Sainsbury will offer 51 varieties of British apples

Sainsbury has become the No. 1 retailer for British apples and pears.

According to  a study made by the distributor, the British prefers British apples rather than apple imported for 74 % of  consumers.

Responding to this demand more and more important, Sainsbury has sold 13,000 tons of apples in Great Britain making Sainsbury's the No. 1 distribution for British apples and pears, for the third consecutive year.

This year, Sainsbury will offer throughout the season 51 varieties of apples including some British rare traditional varieties which would have disappeared, without this renewed interest in local cultures.
