Beginning of the strawberries season for Hoogstraten

The strawberry season has begun for Hoogstraten with  the Clery strawberries on February 16th.

 
These first strawberries were supplied by Jan Diepenbrock, producer, with 181 boxes, 10x200gr.
Production should increase rapidly.  The Sonata and Darselect varieties will follow.

Hoogstraten has sold in 2010 over 25.5 million kg of strawberries. For 2011, a similar volume and may be a slight increase are expected.
