Asparagus exports are still growing

Export earnings continue to rise , following a higher demand in the first months of the year.
ADEX , the Association of Peruvian Exporters reports that in Q1 asparagus exports reached USD 146.1 million . Therefore + 6.7% compared to the same period in 2014.
For the association, it is due to the Mexican declining production, a major competitor of Peru in the sector, some markets have increased their demand. Thus the United States imported $ 60.9 millon USD Peruvian vegetables, which represented an increase of 22.4%.
