In the United States, the national holiday is celebrated on July 4. Over 60% of Americans plan reunions with family or friends. This year, the inflation that affects food products will weigh on consumer budgets.
 
According to a study compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, food prices rose by +1.2% for the month of May alone and by +10.1% for the period May 2021 to May 2022.
 
For the month of May 2022, the ranking by rate of increase is as follows: chicken (+17.4%), beef (+13.6%), snacks and sodas (+13.2%). Further in the ranking: lettuce (+11.4%), potatoes (+8.6%), tomatoes (+2%).
 
The study conducted by Karol Aure-Flynn, Food and Agribusiness Advisor at Wells Fargo, indicates that this year the cost of a barbecue for a group of 10 people is up 11% compared to the previous year. 'last year.
