Always more taste at Belorta
PE | Bel'Orta
In 2025, Belorta is stepping up the introduction of new taste-oriented varieties to appeal to consumers, such as cherry tomatoes, blackberries and pears.
To offer consumers even more pleasure. "The increase in our Ruby Red tomato sales proves that satisfying consumers with better products is the right strategy," says Sales Director Jo Lambrecht. Ruby Red cultivation reached a new record this season in conventional cultivation, but is also offered for the second year in organic cultivation. Belorta is growing a total of 270 hectares of tomatoes in greenhouses this season.
Aromia cherry vine tomato, Tatayoyo snack peppers
BelOrta recently launched the new premium cherry vine tomato Aromia, the result of a rigorous selection of growers. It impresses with its crisp texture, intense flavor, and beautiful red color. Objective tests confirm that it rivals the best European varieties. Aromia stands out both for its taste and its appearance. Another new addition to the BelOrta range this year is the Tatayoyo snack pepper, grown 100% organically. This pepper is characterized not only by its sweetness and particularly attractive appearance, but also by its rich, savory, and aromatic flavor.
Fred pears and Bestum® blackberries to seduce modern customers
Belorta also confirms the growing success of the Fred pear, crisp and flavorful with a sugar content of over 10 degrees Brix. The cooperative also announces the introduction of Bestum®, a new, innovative blackberry variety developed in Belgium and marketed by BelOrta. This unique variety combines everything the modern market is looking for: consistent, high-quality taste, firmness, good shelf life, and uniform, attractive fruit. "What sets Bestum® apart is its consistently high Brix value, guaranteeing a pronounced sweet taste—every time." This consistent quality makes Bestum® not only attractive to consumers, but also to retailers looking for repeated results in terms of taste and experience,” says Lambrecht.
