HORTIFRUT strengthens its blueberry business

The Chilean company HORTIFRUT consolidates its leading position in the production and marketing of blueberries with the signature of a merger agreement of the Peruvian company TALSA S.A. which will bring it an additional 1,450 hectares.

 

 

HORTIFUT will buy TALSA S.A. shares for a value of 160 million USD. This merger will bring it about 1450 hectares productive blueberries, as well as installations and equipment of 2 refrigerated units.

 

These new areas, in addition to the 350 hectares already owned by HORTIFRUT in Trujillo and the 400 hectares with its partner ATLANTIC BLUE, will allow a total production in Peru over 2,200 hectares.

 

With its additional surfaces HORTIFRUT will be able to better meet the international demand and consolidate its leading position in the supply of berries all year round.
