Gentlemen, increase your intake of flavonoids (berries, eggplant, apples, tea) to protect against brain diseases.
Eating foods rich in flavonoids decreases the risk of brain disease by 40%.
The study by scientists at Harvard University (USA) and East Anglia (GB) published by Neurogoly followed 130,000 men and women, including 800 who developed Parkinson's disease, for 20 years.
By analyzing the diet of these people, scientists have discovered the importance of flavonoids. Men who regularly consume foods rich in flavonoids decreased by 40% the risk of brain disease
. Those who eat one or more servings per week reduced the risk by 24%.
Flavonoids are found in many fruits and vegetables. The best have a red or purple skin such as eggplants, berries, blackberries and blackcurrants. Apples and oranges as well as tea and red wine also contain flavanoid.
However, this only works for men. For women who participated in the study, no link has been established by scientists.
