Production of almonds is decreasing

 

 

 

Professionals estimate that production could be down by 15 to 25% across the country. The exact figures, by area and by variety, will be known in the coming weeks.

 

 

 

This decrease in production is due to unfavorable weather conditions. Chile recorded many frosts and then a drought during the winter (May, June, July) which is the normal rainy season. This lack of rains resulted in fewer flowers, then in summer temperatures were abnormally high, up to 40 ° C, and trees lacked water.
