Tunisia exports more than 60 kinds of organic products to around thirty countries.
Tunisia is the only country on the African continent to have the recognition of equivalence with the EU and Switzerland in the field of organic farming. Last year Tunisia exported more than 60 varieties of organic products to about thirty countries.
A publication by the CEPEX (Export Promotion Center) reveals that Tunisia exported until the end of October 2016 more than 35,000 tons of organic products. The country has exported more than 60 kinds of organic products, mainly olive oil, dates, vegetables, aromatic plants.
Ranking of destinations: Italy, France, Spain and the USA. Tunisia is the world's number one exporter of dates (in value terms), the second largest African exporter of organic products (80% of organic products are exported) and the 10th largest tomato producer in the world.
