Imported plums prices plunge in Russia

According to the recent information, this week remarkable increase of local plums supply has triggered prices plunge for plums imported to domestic wholesale market of Russia. Based on the latest data, Serbian plums costs have skid down by 20 % this week. At the current moment this kind of fruits are available at approximately 1,22 – 1,29 USD/kg, price mainly depends on fruits variety and quality. It is worth mentioning that last week prices for Serbian plums comprised not less than 1,64 USD/kg. With reference to the Russian market specialists, local consumers tend to purchase mostly local plums with prices 20% lower comparing to the costs of fruits imported from Serbia or any other country. This kind of situation makes suppliers of imported fruits slightly decrease plums prices in order to remain competitive within fruits market of Russia.
