Kwik Lok showcases plastic-free labels

Kwik Lok, one of the global leaders in the design and manufacture of labelling machinery and bag closures from the U.S., recently chatted with Fructidor and presented its environment-friendly closure solutions for the fresh produce industry.
“Today, we would like to emphasize our plastic-free labels. These are bag closures made of cellulose, a combination of wood and cotton. This closure is fully compostable: you can throw it away in your garden if you’d like, and it won’t harm nature. Its label part is made of the tag board, which is paper. If you, for instance, have spring onions or carrots or whatever product, we put a string on the product and apply the label at the same time. We can do this in a semi-automatic way, which means that the operator can bunch around 20-25 with labels per minute. We also have a fully automatic line that runs up to 50 bunches per minute.”, says Bas Reijndorp, Kwik Lok Regional Sales Manager.
Kwik Lok labels are a perfect solution for herbs, onions, asparagus, radish, carrots, cucumbers, leaks, and broccoli, among others. They are less expensive than other forms of packaging and still preserve the opportunity for branding, cross promotion and traceability.
