Mexico's apple production in the campaign 2021/22 would increase by 9%

According to a recent GAIN report from USDA, apple production in Mexico in the campaign 2021/22 would total 779.749 tons, which means a 9% increase, compared to the previous campaign.
The growth is explained by the large amount of precipitation that occurred before harvest.
Chihuahua is considered the leading apple-producing state of the country. For the 2021/22 campaign, it is projected to produce 659.742 T, accounting for 83% of total Mexican apple production and representing an 11% increase compared to the previous campaign.
Exports are projected to reach 920 T.
The import forecast
The planted area is estimated at 58.943 ha, while the harvested area is at 55.885 ha.
Mexico produces approximately 71% Golden Delicious variety and 29% Red Delicious.
