Even more public investment in agriculture and irrigation. With the objective of increasing agricultural exports by 5 to 10%.
Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala al-Saeed announced plans to increase public investment in the agriculture and irrigation sector in the 2020/21 fiscal year.
Investments will amount in 2020/21 to approximately 34.5 billion EGP ($2.1 billion) against approximately 33.9 billion EGP in the 2019/20 financial year.
The most important objectives of the agricultural sector for the 2020/21 plan are to increase agricultural production and increase exports by 5 to 10% to reach $2.6-2.7 billion in the financial year.
