New market for mangoes from Peru

Peruvian mangoes will be exported for the first time to the South Korea market, which has the same requirements as the Japanese market.

The EMPA (Asociación Peruana de Exportadores Mango) estimates the first mango exports to South Korea for the season, November 2013 to March 2014.

Protocols for entry into the Korean market

are nearing completion. Demands are similar to Korean requirement in Japan: no big volumes but high quality. Volume for the first year is estimated at 100 tonnes of mangoes but could increase rapidly.
