1st quarter satisfactory for exports from Peru.
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, exports of Peruvian fruit continued to grow. Increases of 20% for the 1st quarter and 37% for the month of March alone.

According to Mincetur (Ministerio de Comercio Exterior y Turismo) data, growth continued for fruit exports despite the health crisis. For the 1st quarter, the increase was 20% ($1,016 million) and 37% ($253 million) for the month of March alone.

The growth observed in the 3rd month of the year is mainly due to the increase in sales of avocados and grapes. For avocado, exports increased by 225% and for grapes by 31%.

Fruit shipments represent 50% of agro-exports and around 10% of the country's total shipments. Fruit exports have been growing for several months and this dynamic should continue throughout the year.
