EU lifts its ban on Indian mangoes

The European market is once again open for mangoes from India after months of embargo.
The European Commission has announced the reopening of the EU market to Indian mangoes, banned since May 2014. The embargo was decided after the detection of cargo contaminated with diseases and pests that could threaten European flora.
This embargo is lifted followed an audit that documented " significant improvements in phytosanitary Indian certification system ".The resumption of imports for mangoes will intervene as early as March 2015.
