Spain allocates 80% of fruit and vegetable exports to the European Union until September

The value of fruit and vegetable exports from Spain between January and September 2022 reached 11,702 million euros, according to data from the Department of Customs and Excise Duties.

 

Of this sum, 9,371 million euros came from the European Union, 80% of the total, reflecting the strong dependence of the Spanish sector on the community market.

 

The other important destination for Spanish exports was the United Kingdom, with 1 million tons (-7% year-on-year) for 1,551 million euros (-2%). Followed by Switzerland and Norway, which are the non-EU European destinations with the highest supplies from Spain.

 

Shipments to Switzerland totaled 124,287 tons and 242 million euros, while those destined for Norway reached 77,028 tons for 109 million euros.

 

Spanish fruit and vegetable exports outside Europe in the analyzed period totaled 323,187 tons for 392 million euros, 4% of the total.
