EARL de L'Oustalet: music makes plants grow and blocks viruses

Gilles Josuan, EARL de L'Oustalet, is a grower of zucchini in Provence, at Mouriés (13).

The producers of zucchini must face three viruses (CMV-ZYMV-WMV). The last, most commonly called "mosaic virus".  causes the loss of many plants. To combat this virus, Gilles Josuan became interested in the technique of "protéodies" of Joel Sternheimer or melody of proteins.

He installed speakers that spread every night a first melody that promotes the growth of plants, and a second whose purpose is to block the spread of the virus. The tests have gone well for Gilles Josuan, which adopted this technique in his company for a few years.

The "music" widespread stimulates protein. Depending on the frequency of the waves emitted, you can fight against aphids, activate the flowering or increase the rate of sugar. This natural technique allows him to produce - for 10 months a year - long, round or colored zucchini.
