Anecoop looks to improve persimmon production

Anecoop, the leading fruit and vegetables marketing company in Spain has joined forces with the Valencian Institute for Agricultural Research (IVIA) to conduct joint research work.
This research will focus on quality improvement and conservation of Rojo Brillante persimmon. Anecoop will have an output of 50,000 tons for the season, which ends in January. Anecoop currently represents 60% of Spanish exports and remains the leader for this fruit in Europe.
The Institute will provide project facilities in Moncada (Valencia), equipment and laboratories. Anecoop will finance the project and provide the necessary equipment and support of its technical staff.
The results obtained will be used for the next campaign. The president of Anecoop stressed the importance of a research agreement like this, allowing the company to maintain the commercial quality of the fruit through the development of machines and post-harvest treatments allowing minimal use of pesticides.
