Good, better or best? Growers have different options for choosing the right ROOTSTOCK-supplier!
Growers have a lot of options when it comes to select the rootstock for their orchards. Numerous research reports and years of practice have proved that rootstocks play an essential role to determining orchard performance of fruit trees. This was discussed with CIS countries Representative for LODDER-UNTERLAGEN Mr. Johann Sukkau at Fresh Business Expo in Kiev, Ukraine.
Mr. Sukkau is showing the photos of ROOTSTOCKS, grown by LODDER-UNTERLAGEN in Germany: “First you need to understand that just about every tree - fruit you have ever seen or eaten - was grown on a grafted tree. A grafted tree is comprised of two components: scion and the rootstock. Here are the first, second and third level of roots. This guarantees that the root will grow well into the ground. So when growers chooses the rootstock, they actually contribute to the future orchard`s performance. That is why it is very important to use the best rootstocks”.
Production of LODDER-UNTERLAGEN is monitored and regularly retested (following AGOZ-Scheme) by the Federal Department of Plant Protection of Northrhine Westfalia in cooperation with the Institut for Fruit-Tree-Production
“The company exists since 1958 - founded by the manager´s grandfather. We always stay in touch with our customers to make sure they receive good results and crops. This experience allows us to grow healthy and the best quality ROOTSTOCKS for Apples, Pears, Cherries, Plums, Peaches, Apricots”, - concludes Mr. Sukkau.
