60% of the food served in public kitchens in Denmark will be organic, a decision that will boost production
The Danish Ministry of Agriculture and Food has decided that 60% of all food served in public kitchens will be organic.
The decision covers hospitals, schools, nursing homes and all other public institutions in Denmark. In the public sector 500,000 meals are served each day and a
national budget of 72 million DKK (€ 9.6 million) over two years is expected to help municipalities with changes
The Danish organic sector welcomes this decision, which should lead to a reorganization of production to meet the new demand.
