Forecast at 110 000 tons of cherries exports

The export volume of cherries will increase for the 2016/17 campaign.
Very positive expectations for the production of cherries in Chile and for the volume of exported fruits.
The report of the US Department of Agriculture (GAIN Report CI1619), on the Chilean stone fruit, advance forecasting a volume of cherry exports reaching 110 000 tonnes for 2016/17. A net increase compared with 83 558 tonnes exported in 2015/16.
This export growth will be the result of increased production, itself driven by less impactful effects of "El Niño" and the entry into production of new orchards.
