There is a projected increase of at least 20% for Peruvian grape exports next season.
The AGAP (Asociación de gremios of Agroexportadores del Peru) predicts an increase of at least 20% of exports of grapes, for the period October 2012 to March 2013. Last season, between October 2011 and March 2012, exports reached 133,000 tons worth more than $300 million.
International demand is increasing, especially for the Red Globe variety, which is now sent to 80 countries. The grapes are shipped from Peru to the United States (20%), China (18%), Netherlands (15%) and Russia (12%). Asia (China, Indonesia, Thailand) is where demand for Peruvian grapes is increasing the most.
