Organic : French agricultural ministry announces to level up incentives for organic farmers from 22 to 34 millions euros.
Present last wednesday in an organic forum, Michel Barnier announced an increase of subventions in favour of organic agriculture. Another 12 millions euros will be added to the existing 22 millions euros budget to help farmers who initiate organic agriculture. Those subsidies will be settle on a 3-year programme.
The objective is to triple the surface of land cultivated with organic process, this is representing now 2% in France , and the target is to bring that surface up to 6% in 2012.
This new resources will enable the farmers to receive more than 7.600€ / year/ farm, what was the maximum authorised so far.
