Zespri predicts 90 million trays of kiwifruit will be harvested this season, a marked decrease from 105 million last year.
The Company Zespri estimates the the kiwi harvest will be down on last year.
The estimate is 90 million trays of kiwifruit harvested this season, well below last year which saw 105 million trays.
Detailed harvest forecasts will be available only in a few weeks. PS-V disease that affects many orchards is not solely responsible for the decline in production. Last season was a record harvest that could not be repeated this year so a normal and natural decline in production was expected.
