Exports suffer from unexpected obstacles
FJ
In Cameroon surprising brakes restrict exports of fresh produce (fruits, vegetables).
More and more producers and exporters of Fruits & Vegetables denouncing multiple cases of corruption (police, customs ) . These professionals explain that the trucks drivers carrying the products are forced to pay " taxes " at various checkpoints , from farmers' fields to the airport of Douala and customs.
If these " imaginary taxes " are not paid , the police and customs block goods , thus preventing these fresh products to reach adequate storage sites or being mailed from the airport.
A producer organization seized the administrative hierarchy of the country and alerted various media.
