Slight increase for peaches and nectarines

The national production of peaches and nectarines reflects a slight increase compared with last year. Production has been forecasted this year at 463 500 tons compared with 445 100 in 2001. Unfavourable weather conditions, the strong presence of Spanish products in France and South Italian products in Germany were though the cause of a bad campaign' s start.
