For the 2nd consecutive year cherry harvest record is expected.
British producers believe they can reap 4,500 tons of cherries. Either a higher volume of 500 tonnes in the production of last year, and 15 times higher than the production in 2000 (300 tonnes).
Very favorable climatic conditions this year and effective practices ( new orchards , small trees ... ) explain this leap forward in British production .The most produced varieties : Merchant, Sunburst, Stella, Skeena , Regina, Kordia , Lapins , Sweetheart , Sandra .
