Record for the exports of avocado

Mexico increased its sales of avocado by 28% in the United States and still plans an improvement.

Mexico has increased its sales of avocado by 28% in the United States where it covers now 80% of the U.S. market. Mexican exports will reach 454,000 tons this year, last year exports had totaled to 355,000 tons.

The exports of avocado in the United States represent slightly less than 40% of the total Mexican production that reaches 1.2 million tons. Mexico is the world No. 1 for the exports of avocado with a market share of 39%. It is followed by Chile with 12% and the by the Netherlands with 10% and Spain with 8%.
