South Korea, an important market, has been opened for mangoes from Pakistan.
South Korea has lifted its ban on imported mangoes from Pakistan.
South Korean experts visited the facilities in Pakistan and approved the standards and quality of mangoes. After a 12-year ban, South Korea has now opened its market for mangoes from Pakistan.
South Korea already imports mangoes from the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. This opening of the Korean market should result in
exports of 10,000 tons to 15,000 tons of mangoes according to PDCA (Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters, Importers and Merchant Association).
Pakistan mangoes have access to the markets of USA, Japan, Jordan, and now South Korea. The process for entry into the Australian market began.
