Spanish fruit and veg supplier installs waste recycling and recovery system

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility policy, CMR Group implements a waste recycling and recovery system in its central facilities in Barcelona, El Prat (Spain).

In order to remove and replace large containers destined to recycle and recover waste produced by its facilities, CMR has built 5 docks with a total length of 32 meters.

For this aim, the company installed a cardboard compactor with a monthly volume of 30 tons, a vertical plastic compaction press, organic waste auto-compactors for transport to composting plants and other materials as well as wood auto-compactors.

Thanks to this, the waste generated is selectively deposited in provisional containers until it is transferred to treatment plants to be recycled, reused or treated.

This process enables extending the useful life of materials, saving energy, water, and raw materials that can be used in the manufacture of other resources, while contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and helping to preserve the natural resources.
