Assomela announced a 11.8% drop in the volume of apples available.
For the season 2012/2013 the volume of apples for fresh consumption is estimated at 1,731,426 tons, a decrease of 11.8% compared to the fresh produce available in 2011.
According to the consortium Assomela, varieties of apples were affected differently: Golden Delicious (-6%)
, Gala (-11%), Granny Smith and Fuji (-18%), Red Delicious (-23%), Cripps Pink (- 26%).
Despite these reductions, the volumes are sufficient to ensure the availability of products for the entire season.
