Lidl continues to expand in Romania and Bulgaria

Present for less than 10 years in Romania and Bulgaria, the German giant Lidl has increased its number of stores.
Discount retailer Lidl is expanding in eastern Europe.
In Romania, Lidl has opened three new stores bringing the number of its outlets to 132. Last year Lidl built 22 new stores and bought a local chain Plus, owned by the Tengelmann Group. This acquisition included
all activities of Plus in Romania (96 stores) and Bulgaria (23 stores).
Lidl plans to open 15 new stores this year in Bulgaria and to increase the number to 65 in the near future.
