Russia
Monday 02 July 2007
The situation with apples started to change in favor of Grannies instead of Reds. The prices for last ones began to go down though still remained high enough - 1,39 US$/kg both in Moscow and in Saint-Petersburg. Vice versa Granny were going up pushed by demand from traders side - 1,50 US$/kg with the further up-trend. Polish apples were running Ok - 1,35 US$/kg and in some Siberian cities were sold out even more expensive than Argentine ones. Chinese Fuji took another record price in Siberia - 1,54 US$/kg which never happened before. In general the sales of apples were active enough.
The general shortage was observed for all pear varieties. Packhams jumped to 1,75 US$/kg! Though prices for Conference didn't change since last week the sales were good as no other pears could be found onto the market.
White varieties were still not on the market. Those rare who were, met the price over 5,00 US$/kg. Red Globe in a few quantities was offered on 3,30 US$/kg about in Saint-Petersburg and up to 4,00 US$/kg in Moscow.
A few Chilean stuff had price level from 1,92 US$/kg up.
