The Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture has changed the list of Italian products allowed in Indonesia, adding oranges and kiwis. Now Italy can export grapes, apples, pears, oranges and kiwis to Indonesia.
CSO Italy announced that the Italian Embassy in Jakarta (Indonesia) had received the information from the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture. The list of Italian products that can be exported to Indonesia includes: grapes, apples, pears, kiwis, oranges.
These exports are subject to certain conditions, the main one being the obtaining of a certificate of analysis issued by an approved laboratory, which must show that the residue and/or contaminant limits are not higher than the limits required by the Indonesian authorities.
"The possibility of exporting oranges to Indonesia is a novelty for our country" commented Simona Rubbi, responsible for international relations of CSO Italy.
With regard to the kiwifruit, it is a clearing of the situation and the resumption of exports. Italian kiwifruit exports had been blocked on October 1, 2020 and then had been authorized on a transitional basis.
Due to this blockage in October 2020, Italian kiwifruit exports were very low for the 2020-21 season, far from the 563 tonnes exported during the previous season and from the 728 tonnes exported during the 2015-16 season.
