Massive grape exports

Chilean grape exports to Japan increased 62% to 7,702 tonnes last year, but this record-breaking figure is unlikely to be exceeded in 2001. "The huge volumes imported last year resulted in an oversupply which in turn reduced profits for the importers," commented Yoshizo Nagahama of Asahi, the PR agency responsible for handling Chile's promotional campaign in Japan.
