Mediterranean countries dominate the world fig market, with the highest production volumes. In 2022, according to FAO figures, Turkey produced 350,000 tonnes, Egypt 187,900 tonnes, Algeria 112,300 tonnes, Morocco 109,600 tonnes, Iran 67,800 tonnes and Spain 43,500 tonnes.
