Chilean cherries on the market

Japan has allowed Chilean cherries to enter the market. Indeed, high volumes are currently imported from the USA, but Chile is a potential growing country with 5 000 hectares planted with cherries. Japanese importers show great interest in Chilean cherries and the Chilean Exporters Association estimates initial volumes at around 100 000 boxes. Exports could start in mid-November.
