Drop in Peruvian banana exports

According to Cillóniz, Peruvian banana exports, which take place throughout the year, have continued to decline since 2017.

Peruvian exports of fresh bananas in the period from January to September 20, 2021 reached 79.000 tons, showing a 20% drop compared to the 99.000 tons exported in the same period of 2020, according to Fernando Cillóniz Benavides, the president of the consulting firm Inform@cción.

The main export destinations are the Netherlands, the United States, Panama, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Canada, Belgium, Germany, Finland, the United Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, among others.
