Continuous increase in sales of dried fruits.
The sales of dried fruits, nuts and snacks rose by +3.1% in 2013, reaching a total of 1 995 million EUR, according to a report by DBK, the subsidiary of Informa D&B. After experiencing a growth of +3.5% in 2012.
Per segment, the sales of nuts increased by 5% and represented 37.2% of the total market. Snacks increased by 4.4% and represented 33.4% of the market.
This continuous increase is explained by the increase in raw materials. If moderation of prices is established, the growth for 2014 will be more moderate, on the order of 1 to 2% according to predictions.
