High price for the first Galia melons from Almeria

In Almeria started the first very early harvest of Galia melons.

 

 

The prices are very high and oscillate between 1 and 1,40 eur per kg and cat II 0,70 eur per kg.

 

 

For time being the quantities are very scarce. Bigger quantities are expected after Easter if the weather is favourable. 

 

 

In Almeria region Galia melon is cultivated on 4,500 hectares and the production is about 180,000 tons.
