Agrobot has showcased a prototype of a machine to pick strawberries in the area of Huelva.
The machine can reduce labour by 50% to 90% and can be made profitable on farms with more than 4 hectares.
Built on the chassis of 4 by 4, it is powered by diesel or electric and the collection is made with 20 "
arms" through a "vision sensor" that identifies ripe fruit. Strawberries are gently deposited on a strip and the operator places them fruit in the tray.
Some orders have already been made by companies in California. The price of the machine is about 100,000 euros.
