GWF (Global Women Fresh) awarded its prizes

Global Women Fresh, the association that connects women around the world throughout the fresh produce supply chain, has announced the results of its 2nd edition of the 'Woman of Impact' and 'EmpowerHER' awards

 

These awards were created to recognize the work of pioneering and visionary women who are making a difference in the agricultural products industry as well as companies who are championing women in their network, in their workplace and in their community.

 

The 'Woman of Impact' prize was awarded to Frédérine Derlot, a market specialist working at ITC (International Trade Centre) in Geneva, Switzerland. A United Nations agency, ITC specializes in the implementation of technical assistance projects for developing countries.

 

The 'EmpowerHER' prize was awarded to Equifruit, a Canadian company and leader in fair trade bananas in the country. Acquired by Jennie Coleman in 2013, the company is made up of women passionate about fresh fruit and an ethical business model.
