The Campania region is the kingdom of strawberries and "Sabrina " the Queen

In Italy, the strawberry crops are 40 % in the regions in the north of the country ( Veneto, Emilia Romagna , Trentino, Piemonte) and 60% in the southern regions ( Sicilia, Calabria , Basilicata, Campania ) .

The Campania region continues to excel in the strawberry sector with over €100 million turnover.

The variety "Sabrina " is most widespread in the region, representing about 50 % of production. Italian production , thanks to the diversity of climates of its regions , offer long periods of availability. On the market , first come the South strawberries ( Sicilia, Calabria ) from January to March , then in April and May the Campania and Basilicata strawberries , and finally those of more northern regions (Verona , Emilia Romagna ) .
