Chile exceeds Argentina for the cherries exports
Cherries of Chile are increasing their exports.Due to good weather conditions, they have an advance of 2 or 3 weeks compared to fruits coming from Argentine.
The good cherry crop in Chile will increase exports, which are planned. The latest estimates predict an increase of 60% of foreign sales over the previous season.
Over the past 15 days, Chile has already sent 2,000 tons of cherries in Europe, while Argentina has sent only 300 000 kilograms.
Last year, Chile exported 32,000 tons of cherries and this year the country plans to reach 52,000 tons. Argentina had exported 2,000 tons last year and should reach 3,000 this year.
