Farmers divided between optimism and depression

The barometer carried out by the Institute of surveys FIFG for the trade union FNSEA reveals a situation of conflict for French agriculture.
According to the barometer, published in recent days, almost half of the farmers consider their condition "acceptable" and 25% considers it "good". These responses come from the regions of Champagne-Ardennes, Alsace, Lorraine, and it's operators of "major crops" (cereals, rape, ...) or wine.
Unlike the majority, 26% of respondents believe that the economic situation of their company is "bad", especially in areas of West and South of France. Among the most pessimistic, horticulturists and breeders.
For the future, 42% of respondents believe that their situation will be "less favorable" in the next 2 or 3 years. The winemakers are among the most optimistic: 59.6% of members of the VIF (Independent Winegrowers of France) are very confident about the future of their companies.
