Far East is the main importer of Chilean fresh fruit

In the current fresh fruit export season, from September 1, 2021 to January 11, 2022, Chile exported 708.741 tons, which means an increase of 7.85% year-over-year, according to the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (ASOEX).
The main destinations: Far East with 301.818 tons imported and a decrease of -4.75% compared to last season; United States with 177.642 tons, and a significant rise of 54.6%; Latin America with 114.936 tons and an increase of 10.45%, Europe with 106.849 tons (+21.35%); Canada with 6.354 tons (-19%); and the Middle East with 1.142 tons (+92%).
In terms of participation, the Far East continues to be the main destination, receiving 43 percent of all Chilean fresh fruit, followed by the United States (25% of the total), Latin America (16%) and Europe (15%).
The main species are: cherry (291.503 T), avocado (97.188 T), mandarin (87.869 T), apple (70.405 T), blueberry (55.371 T), orange (25.696 T) and table grape (17.373 T).
