Peruvian professionals believe to able to increase by +50% their exports to Russia.
During an interview with a Peruvian newspaper, responsible for AGAP (Asociación de Gremios de Productores Agrarios del Perú), the association of producers, estimates that the sector can increase its exports by +50% to Russia. The country is able to meet increased demand thanks to investments made in recent years.
Until 2006, exports of fruits and vegetables to Russia were minimal, but rose sharply to record a turnover of about $ 53 million in 2013. This year, they could reach or even exceed 80 million USD.
AGAP participates in next WorldFood Moscow that will allow, in addition to the new office recently opened in Moscow to develop the Peruvian presence in the Russian market. Peru's total exports to Russia totaled $ 151 million last year, nearly +71% compared to the shipments of 2012.
