This cold spell has damaged agricultural production in many European countries, here in Italy (photo immediato.net)
In Europe, the cold and snow wave that occurred a few days ago has damaged many agricultural areas.
According to COLDIRETTI the damage could total EUR 300 million in Italy. This episode of cold has affected several countries of the European continent: Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Croatia but also France, Spain and Great Britain.
Market gardening and orchards are the most affected. Everywhere the production of winter vegetables (salads, artichokes, cabbages, ...) is seriously affected and this will weigh on the available volumes and prices of these products.
