Bruno Le Maire promises once again millions of euros in aid ... but still the crisis continues.
The measures announced by the Minister of Agriculture during his visit in the Pyrénées-Orientales appear to have been developed to calm the sector, but not resolve the crisis.
The Minister spoke of financial aid and promised millions of euros. These pledges will take the form of reduced charges. He called for banks to defer loan payments and help from the welfare agency for agriculture MSA.
The Minister also promised greater sanctions against fraudulent imports - a practice denounced by farmers.
On September 7 the exact amount of aid promised will be revealed as well as other measures. The industry expects the overhaul of the trading system that would allow producers more power to deal with distributors.
